Nearly done...

Well I've been extra busy lately making those costumes but I've been doing a little bit of other crafts too. I'm more than halfway done with the costumes and although it'll be great to be finished them and see them on stage I'm also going to miss making them! Such a big project but a lot of fun :)

Looking on pinterest is my new favourite thing to do, so much inspiration! Here is a link to my boards: Sewfjords
There's a lot of creative people out there making brilliant things... every time I get off the computer after looking on pinterest I feel so inspired and immediately start a new project. This time I was inspired by the many crochet bags I saw so started my own. It's made from all my old t-shirts which would have otherwise gone to the opshop.

It's just a simple circle bag crocheted in the round. Thinking I should have used some of the plainer colours on the bottom where they wouldn't have been seen. I quite like the pink and it's all used up now. Oh well. Might have to find some more shirts to chop up now, I seem to have used most of them up already...

Everything thing seems to be in a spiral design these days!

Yummy cinnamon scrolls, a favourite treat of ours. Mine always leak filling everywhere, so then there's not enough left in them for flavour. I found out that you can nestle them tightly in a cake tin to prevent that from happening so I'll try that next time. The dough is nice and light and chewy, and is even good with half and half white and wholemeal flour. Cinnamon would have to be my favourite spice, it's so sweet and woody. I have fond memories of buying cinnamon incense, what a beautiful smell... reminds me of spring!

So those are my small side projects these days, not much but I am dreaming of getting back to my own projects soon. Coats, skirts, tailcoats, dresses etc etc. Also keen to show off my costumes here soon, perhaps in August when the production is over. I'm still working on my cabled vest. I finished the front the other week and have made good progress on the back now that I've eliminated those extra fiddly cables. Much better and even relaxing now!

Hope to post more soon...
